this is a similar situation. specialty z comes out with an oil pan. you cry foul and use your capital to build one. at least his monetary use has benefited the z community. and like bezza said, he is not stuck with them and can sell them, use them on another build, trade them for other parts, etc. and as far as proving curiosity, dont i recall you filling up the stock oil pans with various amounts of fluid. just because his experiment cost more, does that make it foolish? no.
